Letter From The President
I would like to thank everyone who supported meetings, fellowship and events at Club Recovery in the past year.
I want to welcome everyone to our new home, Old Schoolhouse Community Center. We decided to rebrand ourselves to better reflect our new mission. We still are Club Recovery but dba as Old Schoolhouse Community Center. We have leased the Schoolhouse for 5 years with an additional 5 years for $1 a year plus bringing the historic schoolhouse back into its former glory. This might not sound like much, but so far, the average monthly cost is around $4000 just to keep the doors open. This does not include the cost of remodeling it. So far, we have renovated most of the inside before we moved in. I want to thank all the volunteers and outside vendors for their support.
Now that we are in and have our feet under us, we can add more meetings and events to our Calander. We are open to renting space to all who are interested. Like I said before, we have expanded our mission to include the whole community not just the recovery community.
Now that we have expanded so has our need for volunteers. We are open from 8am till 9pm M-F and from 10am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday. Our ability to stay open for the past 13 years is due to our volunteer staff. We have had no paid employees or officers so far. We need volunteers to help keep this going, so I ask you, if you have some time you can give, please, we could use all the help we can get. We have many new meetings and groups using our facility. If you’d like to keep up to date then you can go to our web site www.oscch.org and look at our Calander. It will have all the meetings and events going on at the school. If you’d like to start a new meeting, you can ask for Shelia, she is in charge of the office and volunteer staff..
